At Affordable Portable Structures, Inc, we’re looking forward to participating as an exhibitor at the 2015 Dallas Build Expo (buildexpousa.com), at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas – February 4th and 5th. We’ll be introducing EZ Log kits, one of the most exciting new specialty building products we’ve seen in over 3 decades of business.

A growing subject for discussion these days centers on a wide-spread community of DIY Homebuilders who are taking a hard look at building compact houses. Inspired by a need for more affordable housing, the prospect of financial freedom or a simple desire to make a smaller ecological footprint, an increasing number of people are building tiny houses, with new access to resources which provide better-built and more cost-effective solutions.

We believe the EZ Log solutions we’re introducing represent one of the best new resources available for those building micro homes, cabins, small houses, or mid-sized two story homes. Working closely with the European manufacturer in a joint effort to present the EZ Log product line at the Build Expo, our objective is building a network of EZ Log retailers, and will be actively interviewing applicants to find a small number of well qualified retailers.

Using select spruce timber from the Baltic region, the manufacturer of these kit homes uses large-scale CNC milling to translate computer aided, virtual designs into affordable, attractive, and easily constructed cabins, garages, pergolas, gazebos, studios and houses.

The EZ Log Malaga A Garden House we’re exhibiting at the Build Expo features external walls measuring 12.5 feet by 10.5 feet, 108 square feet of interior space. a generous 59 inch (nearly 5 feet) front overhang, and 58 mm (2 ¼”) thick double tongue and groove wall timbers. This sturdy cabin is structurally designed to withstand heavy snow loads and high winds. Vertical steel rods reinforce interlocking timbers at the building’s corners, while select wood casings frame its double-glazed doors and windows.

The largest current market for these buildings exists in Germany, where they are valued for their quality, attractive appearance, and practical affordability. The Malaga A is easily tasked to perform a wide number of uses: residence, office, exercise room, game room, art studio, weight room, play room, yoga studio, storage space, or private getaway. And the best part may be the price. As a do-it-yourself kit, the Malaga A costs less than $7,000. At the 2015 Dallas Build Expo, we’ll be actively seeking well qualified dealers and contractors.
